Manila Philippines – all about the capital

Manila Philippines-

the capital

With its neighboring communities, Manila Philippines is estimated to be the 4th largest city in the world, with nearly 23 million official inhabitants and probably a high unreported rate.

The city is not very old, it was founded in the 16th century by the Spaniards. The old town center of the Spanish city of Intramuros can still be visited today and is located in the middle of Metro Manila.

Manila deserves many titles, it is a melting pot, a juggernaut, a megacity, a city of soul. It’s loud, dirty, colorful, poor, extravagant, cheerful and distressing.

Tours of Manila

A guided day tour of Manila’s markets and malls, historic monuments and business glossy districts with many impressive skyscrapers, Makati and BGC, we highly recommend and can also arrange a personal and special tour on request.

Manila security

Otherwise, the city is basically not a place where you want to stay longer as a tourist. We do not recommend walks on your own outside Makati or Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Too big is the risk of getting into a not so good corner of the city, possibly a slum, because in Manila everything is very close together.

Anyway, you actually move on only by car, taxi or jeepney, as you can easily tell from the catastrophic traffic and constant traffic jams.

Tip for Manila:

If you want to immerse yourself in the authentic nightlife of Manila, we can recommend the Club Black Market in Makati.

Manila is also a capital of street food. Be sure to try local favorites such as kwek – kwek, isaw or fishballs.

Manila Philippines Note:

We always recommend to stay in Manila Philippines to recover from the long flight and spend an overnight stay there before leaving for another Philippines island the next morning.

For each of our packages, you can book a night in Manila, including airport transfers. With some of our longer round trips this additional service with overnight stay in a **** hotel is already included.
