A short vacation in Vienna on New Year’s Eve

The whole world meets in Vienna at the turn of the year. Preparations for New Year’s Eve begin on Old Year’s Day on the so-called New Year’s Path. Countless stands have been set up and invite you to a glass of sparkling wine or, in colder temperatures, to a punch or mulled wine. Small lucky charms can be bought. Traditionally, a waltz course takes place at Rathausplatz, so that you can take a dance with your partner at midnight to the sounds of the Pummerin.

New Year’s Eve is also traditionally celebrated in other Austrian cities. In Graz, Salzburg and Innsbruck the hotels put together special Silverster packages with culinary delights and surprises. New Year’s Eve is simply a very special celebration.

Gala dinner and live music

Many hotels offer their guests a unique overall package on New Year’s Eve. You are greeted with a welcome drink, and you spend the afternoon in the spa area. Everything is already being prepared behind the scenes for the turn of the year. The cooks are ready in the kitchen and create a special gala dinner, after which you can and should swing your leg with live music.

The fireworks start at midnight and a midnight buffet is of course not missing. On New Year’s Day you can regenerate after a hearty breakfast in the sauna or in the wellness area. With a special massage in the afternoon you start relaxed and rested into the new year. Heart, what do you want more?
