I don’t get an anesthetic injection from the dentist when drilling, that’s normal?

Yes, actually that should be normal. There are dentists who give an injection every time they are drilled, but in most cases this is totally unnecessary. Drilling is uncomfortable, but it usually doesn’t hurt. And if it does, then not worse than the anesthetic injection.

I personally prefer it to be a little tricky when drilling than to walk around with an anesthetized mouth for three more hours. I find that much more uncomfortable.

A syringe before drilling is not superfluous, but normal. You don’t run around stunned for three hours, there are also shorter ones. Most want one.

Dear pear tit, you write nonsense.

The dentist calculates the time it takes to drill and the location. If he assumes that there will only be a short pain (eg 10 seconds), he does not use the syringe. However, you can still request an injection if you are particularly sensitive to pain.

Yes, and also completely correct. For most people, the injection site in the sensitive gums hurts for days. The syringes are not particularly healthy either.

A good dentist will recognize if you are in a lot of pain, you can and should give a sign if it is.

If extensive and deep drilling is necessary, the dental nerve can cause extreme problems, it will give an injection.

The fashion to ask for an injection because of the treatment of tiny caries is an exaggeration.

The injection site does not hurt for days, and the injections are not unhealthy either. No dentist would just stun because of fashion.

You have to know it and competition doesn’t have to fear Zä. ^^

My dentist always numbs me when there is something to do on my teeth.

I don’t like that sometimes, but he explained to me that he needs rest to work. In addition, fidgeting patients can put themselves at risk.

Very good! Finally a reasonable one.

No, thats not normal. Today you get anesthesia automatically even if you only drill. Therefore, make your dentist aware of this! No one else comes to him.

Sorry? But that would be completely new to me.

That’s not true! (The answer, not the comment)

Drilling at the dentist hurts a lot?

How much does drilling at the dentist actually hurt and how is it better with or without a syringe? And how does the syringe hurt? I am always totally scared when I lie there on the chair and the doctor comes and takes the drill in hand and says, now open wide ". And I’m afraid of it? Anesthesia at the dentist

Yesterday it was time again. I had a filling out of my tooth and had to go to the dentist to have it replaced.

It was anesthetized, everything was ready and I could go home.

But I still have some of this wonderful anesthetic for the next few days … no real pain, but an extremely uncomfortable pressure, like a sore muscle maybe. (I don’t know how to rewrite it better.)

I couldn’t lie on the left side of the night – I got the injection there – and this morning my cheek was slightly swollen.

And no, not the tooth hurts. ;-) It is not the first time that this phenomenon appears after anesthesia at the dentist. After a day, two or three days everything will be gone.

Is that normal? What could that be?

Every time I take it up to ask my dentist again, but when the time comes, I have already successfully replaced

Maybe someone can give me an explanation here.

Thanks for any kind answer.

Where is the syringe injected at the dentist (anesthetic injection)

I have to go to the dentist on Friday and he has to drill for tooth decay. I’m totally worried, even though you had to drill. I want to get an injection and I wanted to know where it was stabbed and whether it hurt.
