The different dentist drills for drilling out the caries area

Subspecies of dentist drills are: conical drills, countersink drills, rose drills, fissure drills, wheel drills, twist drills [1]

Alternative methods to drilling are
— Carisolv drilling gel
— laser treatments
— Powder blasting techniques [28].

Caries treatment 02: The tooth fillings: The filling of the drilled hole

After making the caries-free holes (the "cavity" is created) follows "filling treatment" with different materials [12], either with liquid filling material or with fillings for insertion (cast filling, insert filling, inlay) [20].

The underfill (insulation layer)
In the case of deep caries holes, an insulating layer is applied to the bottom of the hole to protect the pulp against chemical and thermal stimuli. It must be hard, chemically neutral and isolatable materials, eg phosphate cement [36].

The different filling materials follow over the underfilling (for shallow holes without depth without underfilling):

Cyano veneer
is a cheap, white filling material with a very short curing time, but it is not very cheap. Cyano Veneer is mainly used for milk teeth [4] for children who are not yet able to chew heavily [6].

composite resin
Composite resins are anchored in the prepared hole using etching-adhesive technology ("cavity") [28].

Tooth fillings made of composite resin are not very durable and should be replaced every 10 years [11]. If you do not brush your filled teeth well for a few months, caries can easily seep through at the edge of the filling and trigger caries under the tooth filling [3].

Solitaire
[34]

Ceramics

Ceramic teeth (mineral teeth and mantle crowns) are made "dental ceramic materials" manufactured. The components are
— 60-80% feldspar
— 15-25% quartz
— 0-5% karolin [5].

Designations: high performance ceramics [24].

inlays
Inlays are [26]

Pinlays
A pinlay is an inlay with one "Pin code", with an anchor pin. The pen may damage the tooth nerve [31].

Brush teeth well with fillings
The general warning is: If you feel too safe with your tooth fillings and do not brush your teeth properly with fillings every day, you risk dental caries under the fillings, and so the filling gets bigger and bigger and in the end the whole tooth is gone [ 6].

Temporary dental fillings: Fletcher cement
Fletcher cement is one

Caries treatment 03: polishing

To polish the fillings, you need your own tools, the finishers and milling cutters [12].

Examples of finishing burs and cutters

For polishing of dental fillings are needed finishing instruments (here, a representation) .

and routers, here’s a bud-shaped cutter with cross-cut (Presentation).
