now you become mom yourself and I see how similar we are in this too. Just be pregnant and see how it goes in casual anticipation, which is not free from skepticism. I have so much to say to you and yet at least didn’t suspect anything you didn’t already know. That you can take life from the beginning, that certainty and openness are not mutually exclusive and that it is the things behind the things that produce our reality. Everything we are afraid of, you know that too, only becomes great through our fear. We should also not invite Sorge, the pale sister of fear, to our table, where another little girl will soon take her place. She will be a wonderful creature that is at your side, whose beauty you admire, whose tenderness moves you and whose future nourishes your confidence. The confidence that everything we can give turns to good in our children.

Our emergency aid against child poverty

Around 2.7 million children and adolescents live in poverty in Germany. Many have to survive everyday school life on an empty stomach, freeze in winter due to a lack of warm clothing, suffer from exclusion and an environment characterized by unemployment and hopelessness. The German Children’s Fund is committed to overcoming child poverty.

Losing work, an accident, a serious illness or divorce can acutely put families in dire straits.

Many parents use all their resources to keep the family financially afloat and yet they live with their children on a subsistence level. The main reasons for the high level of child poverty in Germany are on the one hand the unemployment of the parents, on the other hand the increasing number of parents who work full-time but whose income is still only slightly above the social assistance rate. Single parents and large families are particularly hard hit. Their income is often barely enough or not at all to support the children.

Stefanie Stahl now also has a comment on her famous book “The child in you must find a home” Workbook created, which has also been published by Kailash Verlag.

Hello, a good friend of mine probably has to go to the hospital. She is a single parent and has no one for the child. What would happen to the child if she couldn’t secure the care?

The question is formulated so that the woman has no one for the child. So an answer is like "she can ask her mother or the child’s father" not effective.

In such a case, the state child relief service is responsible. There are short-term care options there. If the single mother is not available for a longer period of time, the youth welfare office looks for a foster family for the child.

From how many years can you do a vacation job?

We explain to you how from when you can top up your pocket money.

Sina had the following question: "I would like to do a vacation job during the holidays, but I am only twelve years old and would therefore like to know whether I can do a vacation job and where or what."

What is allowed?

When you can start earning some pocket money, the Youth Work Protection Act (JuArbSchG) regulates and that says that in principle no one is allowed to work who is younger than 13 years.

  • From13 years light work is allowed, e.g. Deliver newspapers, give tutoring classes or take dogs for a walk. These paid activities may only be carried out between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and only with the consent of a legal guardian. In addition, working hours must not exceed two hours a day (three hours in family farms).
  • youth from 15 years Can work up to four weeks full-time (approx. 35 to 40 hours a week) on vacation. You can also work in a trade (at the bakery, florist or similar).
  • First from 18 years chord and night work and work in a disco, amusement parks or at the fair are allowed.

In principle, all jobs for children and young people must be easy and must not endanger their safety, development and health. As long as the child is still required to attend school, they are allowed to attend school and "their ability to follow lessons with benefit" do not affect negatively.
